A healthy workplace means more than protecting against colds and the flu. It is a holistic and multi-faceted consideration directed towards improving or maintaining the physical, occupational and mental health of employees.
Over the last five years, CCI has noticed an emerging interest by employers to provide a healthy workplace.
In the last year, a number of state and federal campaigns, such as Healthier Workplaces WA and the Beyondblue ‘HeadsUp’ campaign, have seen this interest increase. Financially focused reports that identify a rate of return on investment have made it much easier to quantify the business case for implementation of workplace health promotion programs. Having said this, it is not always the responsibility of the employer to cater to the health of employees and boundaries must be clearly articulated.
Businesses are advised to consider the benefits of implementing health and wellbeing programs in their workplaces.
Services we offer in relation to preventative health include:
- workforce risk profiling;
- Mental Health Training for managers and employees;
- workshops on implementing health and wellbeing programs in the workplace; and
- assistance in developing and integrating health and wellness within existing Safety Management Systems
