Barnett told Business Pulse magazine this month that his biggest achievement had been the transformation of WA into a vibrant, modern state – the hallmark of this Government.
“When we first took office in 2008 we inherited from Labor a state widely known as Dullsville,” he says.
“Since then the Liberal-led Government has invested in infrastructure, health, education, agriculture and tourism and in the process helped create 98,000 direct jobs and thousands more indirectly.
“Since 2008, our policies have helped facilitate $480 billion of private sector investment to be put into productive infrastructure across the state – the equivalent of $164 million a day.
“The state’s asset base has now benefited from a 55 per cent increase in value ($192 billion).”
Barnett says there 6500 more businesses operating now in WA than in 2008 and he’s optimistic about the future.
“West Australians are hard workers and our state will continue to grow with the support of the right State Government,” he says.
