Give it a Go!

There are hundreds of young jobseekers in WA just looking for an opportunity to start their career.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia (CCI), in conjunction with MAX Employment and the Department of Employment, is trialing a pilot program called ‘Give it a Go’.

This pilot aims to help CCI members and employers connect with enthusiastic and motivated young job seekers to fill their vacant roles; and provide an opportunity for a young person to kick off their career.

Under the program, high-quality job seekers identify their areas of interest through career exploration tools provided by Skillsroad. Once they have determined their career interests, businesses operating in those industries are canvassed about employment opportunities. If a job match is successful the employee starts their new job and is provided with support to help them settle in.

MAX Employment can work with employers to identify eligibility for wage subsidies and other support available when taking on a young job seeker.

Any employers interested in giving one of these young persons a go, or to join our regular mailing list of monthly profiles – please contact us.
