CCI commends appointment of new WA Governor

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA (CCI) today congratulates Kim Beazley on his appointment as the 33rd Governor of Western Australia.

CCI Chief Executive Officer Chris Rodwell said Mr Beazley’s distinguished career in the Federal Parliament, including as Deputy Prime Minister, and his service to the West Australian community makes him extraordinarily well placed to take on the responsibility of the Queen’s representative in WA.

“Mr Beazley is deeply respected across the political divide. As a former Australian Ambassador to the United States of America, Mr Beazley’s outstanding reputation on the international stage and diplomatic network will assist the WA Government to build on existing partnerships and forge new paths to boost our state’s economic prosperity,” Mr Rodwell said.

“I congratulate Mr Beazley on his appointment and look forward to working with him to advocate for WA around the globe. We are fortunate to have a person of such calibre to assume the role.”
