The CCI Industrial Relations conference featuring presentations from top names in the field is a must attend for those working in the space.
The popular event will be held on 6 April at the Parmelia Hilton Perth.
CCI Principal Employee Relations Consultant Kate Schick will reveal how changes to the WA economy have been reflected in bargaining outcomes for enterprise agreements.
She will offer commentary on why it’s becoming increasingly difficult to get agreements through the Fair Work Commissioner and how to combat this.
Schick, who joined CCI in 2001 and has represented CCI Members during enterprise bargaining negotiations and industrial disputes, says the enterprise agreement system is not as simple as it used to be.
She will outline major changes since December last year when a decision handed down by the Commission granted unions greater access to agreements.
The case means that even though unions are not party to an agreement or a bargaining representative, it is accepted by the Commission they can still make submissions.
Schick will outline the ramifications for this decision and how it is playing out with an example she’s involved with.
Fair Work Commission Deputy President Geoff Bull, Australian Building and Construction Commission Regional Manager West (WA/SA/NT) Clifford Pettit and MS Society of WA CEO Marcus Stafford will also headline the event.
