Management platform sets the record straight

By Beatrice Thomas

Kareena Waters says an obvious gap in the market drove her to start Industry OneCARD — a turnkey management platform for staff training and licence records.

“I spent 20 years as a training manager in blue collar oil and gas and resources and I went grey trying to deal with employees’ training and licence records,” she recalls.

“Employees had lost their records, didn’t understand the tickets, presented with expired records and like a lot of entrepreneurs I had an idea that I could fix this — but I didn’t have the time or the money.”

Then, in December 2016, a twist of fate propelled her idea forward.

“I was made redundant from a project, so I turned redundancy into an opportunity and I started Industry OneCARD,” she says.

The platform verifies and maintains employee records such as licences, certificates and safety inductions on behalf of its members, who also have access to a range of customised reports.

Tracking COVID vaccination

Recently, Waters says, it has also expanded to collecting and tracking the COVID vaccination status of employees.

“As the post-December vaccination deadline looms, employers face stiff penalties for non-compliant vaccination status records,” she says.

“If a company needs to collect and track employees’ vaccination status, the requirement can simply be added to the list of records, maintained and mapped to each companies’ unique requirements.”

She adds: “With the potential requirement of ongoing boosters, the biggest challenge to companies is being ready for the ongoing maintenance of accurate and current vaccination records that are visible and accessible.”

85% of information ‘non-compliant’

Waters estimates that 85 per cent of the information that companies provide Industry OneCARD when first engaged is non-compliant. Companies sit unknowingly on expired and missing mandatory evidence, with company directors often having a false sense of security that the processes or product they are using to manage records is effective.

“We actually work with employers to educate them on what is valid assessment, so if they’re ever in a point where they have to actually prove evidence they’ve got valid assessment,” she adds.

To support CCIWA members, Industry OneCARD is offering members a limited number of obligation-free audits to check a business’ current record management process and a health check of data integrity.

The management of COVID vaccination status is also available to CCIWA members for a small administration fee. It’s free to all Industry OneCARD clients.
