Employers prefer graduates with real-world experience and that’s where a Work Integrated Learning placement is beneficial. Undertaking an internship links your degree to a job and you will gain experience in a workplace by completing a real project where you can put your technical knowledge into practice and learn the soft skills you need to enter the workforce.
CCIWA helps businesses identify projects where a student could assist through an internship. This may be with us here at CCIWA or with one of our Members or associates within the West Australian business community.
These internships are created in accordance with the Fair Work Act’s Vocational Placement Guidelines. To undertake a placement, you must be a current university student studying a relevant field to the internship at a West Australian university.
To be successful in undertaking the placement you must be able to enrol in a for-credit professional practice, business practicum or business internship unit. If you have an elective available in your course structure, we can generally assist with the enrolment.
