Opportunities for businesses to grow and innovate have gone global with the launch to the WA Investments website.
It places WA as an international hotspot for investment, by providing an investment pathway, market and industry insights for businesses and projects seeking investment.
Only one month after the launch on 24 March 2023, WA Investments has more than 40 projects listed seeking investment with a combined value of more than $6 billion. Projects vary across industries and several regions of the State.
The website, which CCIWA has delivered in partnership with the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Innovation and Science (JTSI), showcases investment-ready projects to facilitate innovative and diversified greenfield and brownfield investment within WA to grow the State’s economy, strengthen its reputation and provide jobs.
“WA is in the box seat to draw in capital from around the world. We want to ensure our State is on the front foot to strengthen and diversify its economy, whether it’s in critical minerals, hydrogen, advanced manufacturing, life sciences or some other emerging industry,” said CCIWA CEO Chris Rodwell at the launch.
“WA Investments brings to life some of the opportunities we can shop around the world, whether that’s in places where there are recent or continuing trade negotiations such as India, the EU and the UK, in near markets across Asia, or with our long-term strategic partner, the US.
"Importantly, this puts us at the front of the pack of Australian states in marketing investment opportunities to the world.”
The website showcases projects valued between $10 to $500 million across a range of industries: mining and mining equipment, technology and services (METS), primary industries; education; health, medical and life sciences; tourism, events and creative industries; defence; and space.
Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Jobs and Trade the Hon Roger Cook MLA officially launched the website.
“We know how important international investment is to Western Australia’s ongoing prosperity. It creates and sustains new jobs and drives economic growth and diversification,” Minister Cook said.
“Launching an online platform like WA Investments is not possible without industry engagement. We look forward to continuing to partner with CCIWA to promote investment opportunities from across the State.”
