Leadership and Governance

Esme is the CCIWA Vice President, a Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board member and Optima Board member. She is also the WA Ministers Carers Advisory Council Chair, a Paraplegic Benefit Fund Board member, and Disability Assembly WA Board and Council member.

As a WA director, Esme has impacted the areas of business and community for over 35 years. With a background in nursing, caring, disability, business and volunteering, she has significantly contributed to the business of for-purpose sectors.

She is recognised for her outstanding impact as a director and business leader, being awarded the 2023 Director Award for the Excellence in the WA Not-for Profit Sector by the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In 2024, Esme was Inducted into the WA Women’s Hall of Fame. She is also a life member of Wheelchair Sports WA and honorary life member of RAC WA.

Esme works tirelessly in the public and private sectors to advocate not only for gender and regional representation, but for increased diversity, including lived experiences at all governance tables.

Mark was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Woodside Energy in August 2024. In this role Mark leads Woodside’s Commercial and Marketing and Trading teams and is responsible for developing the company’s growth opportunities through mergers and acquisitions, new energy business development, exploration and new ventures.

He has been a member of the company’s Executive Committee since 2021. Following the completion of Woodside’s merger with BHP Petroleum in 2022, Mark was appointed Executive Vice President of Marketing and Trading. Mark has more than 20 years of commercial, marketing, trading, finance, and mergers and acquisitions experience across roles based in Australia, Singapore, Japan and the United Kingdom.

Mark holds a Master of Philosophy in Finance from the University of Cambridge, and a Bachelor of Economics (1.Hons) and MBA from the University of WA. Mark is also a graduate from the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.

Mark joined CCIWA’s Board in 2022 and is a Board Member of GLX Digital and Asia Natural Gas & Energy Association (ANGEA). He is also a Director of numerous Woodside subsidiaries.

Andy brings over two decades of commercial leadership and operational expertise to the Western Australian business community.

After a decade in senior management roles at Wesfarmers, Andy led the acquisition of MAK Industrial Water Solutions (MAK Water) in 2009, transforming the business from a small service provider into a national leader in water treatment technology. Under his leadership, MAK Water has expanded its footprint across Australia and into global markets, supporting industries from mining and manufacturing to infrastructure.

Andy’s strategic vision has driven MAK Water’s growth through key acquisitions, including Clearmake in 2013 and WTS in 2021, building a strong national service capability. His understanding of the challenges facing businesses – large and small – has shaped his approach to innovation, sustainability and long-term value creation.

A committed advocate for WA industry, Andy joined the CCIWA Board in 2018 and has served as Chair of the Manufacturing Committee since 2012. He is passionate about supporting initiatives that strengthen local businesses and contribute to the broader community – aligning closely with CCIWA’s mission to champion a thriving, inclusive economy.

He holds a mechanical engineering degree, an MBA from Curtin University, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Programme.

Liz is the Managing Director of Argenica Therapeutics (ASX:AGN), a company developing therapies to treat neurological conditions. Liz has deep experience in both biotechnology and management consulting with more than 20 years’ experience across Australia and the United Kingdom, previously as KPMG’s National Director of Research Engagement and Commercialisation, as well as holding senior roles with Ernst & Young (EY) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Liz is also on the Board of AusBiotech, Australia’s biotechnology peak industry body.

Liz was named a winner in Women in Technology WA Tech Awards in 2019 and selected as one of 25 Australian Female Leaders in STEM for the 2022 Federal Government’s WILD program. She holds a PhD, MBA and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Liz joined CCIWA’s Board in 2022.

Liz is a partner in the Disputes team of the law firm Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer (HSF Kramer) and is the Managing Partner of its Perth office. She is also HSF Kramer’s Global Co-chair of the Progression to Partner Panel.

Liz is the Chair of the Legal Contribution Trust, Chair of the Corporate Law Association of Perth and Deputy Chair of Scitech.

Liz’s extensive leadership experience includes being a former elected member of the WA Legal Practice Board, including as Deputy Chair of the Admissions Committee for several years. She is also a former member of the WA Regional Council of Redkite and maintains an active interest in the charity. Liz is a former Executive Director of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA) and was Chair of its WA State Committee, and also sat on the Curtin Law School Advisory Board.

Liz has taught international commercial arbitration, corporations law and regulatory theory at the University of WA (UWA). She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Murdoch University, and a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in History and Psychology from UWA.

Liz is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of WA and the High Court of Australia. Liz joined CCIWA’s Board in 2023.

Simon is a digital communications and media specialist with more than 30 years’ experience. He is the Founder and Digital Communications Strategy Lead at Gramercy Park Consulting, an independent firm that assists organisations facing challenges from disruptive technology trends in marketing and communications. He is the Deputy Chair of the PeopleKind Group and chairs its Risk and Clinical Governance Committee.

Simon is also a Non-executive Director of Landgate and a member of the Audit and Risk Committee. He has served on boards in various sectors, including the arts, media, human services, the public sector and peak bodies, and is a staunch advocate for Indigenous cultural heritage, diversity and inclusion, and small business.

Simon is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and joined CCIWA’s Board in 2021.

Phil is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Company Secretary of ASX200 Monadelphous Group Limited. With 25 years’ experience in construction and engineering services, Phil has played a key role in developing and guiding Monadelphous’ long-term strategic direction and ongoing sustainability. He is actively involved in the development and execution of the company’s growth strategy, the assessment and endorsement of acquisition opportunities, ensuring the risk management philosophy remains appropriate and robust, and the management of key commercial and legal matters.

Phil joined Monadelphous in 2003 and has held various executive management roles with the company, including being responsible for the governance and strategic direction of Monadelphous’ finance and risk, corporate services and people functions.

He was appointed CFO in 2014, has been Company Secretary since 2007 and is a Director of several Monadelphous subsidiaries. Phil is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and previously worked in professional services for KPMG in South Africa, and for EY in Australia.

Phil is on the Advisory Board of Aquinas College and is also a Director of a small start-up air-conditioning business. In addition to his Chartered Accountant qualifications, he holds a Master of Business Administration and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Tracy is an award-winning people and culture executive with diverse, multi-disciplinary HR management experience acquired in internationally renowned and recognised organisations.
Prior to relocating back to Australia in 2020, Tracy’s career was based in Dubai where she held senior HR management and executive roles with AXA, Emirates Airlines, Jumeirah Group, Emaar Hospitality and Emirates Global Aluminium (Dubal).

Tracy has successfully defined and led major people transformation initiatives across the Middle East, Europe and Africa, leading HR transformation across the full employee life cycle, including employer brand, culture, diversity and inclusion, and digital transformation to create an optimal employee experience.

As a champion for workplace diversity and inclusion, Tracy’s passion is helping organisations reengineer the employee experience to accelerate culture transformation through leadership, a differentiated people strategy, attracting and developing the best talent and building a culture of inclusion, learning, and innovation.

Tracy holds an MBA from HULT International Business School and is an Advisory Board Member for Curtin University School of Management & Marketing.

Anthea is the Interim Director, Policy and Advocacy, after joining the policy team at CCIWA in 2021.

Deeply committed to shaping and influencing policy outcomes to benefit Western Australian communities, Anthea’s public policy experience spans roles in academia, State Government and State politics across two decades.

Prior to leading the policy team at CCIWA, Anthea was a key advisor to a former Leader of the State Opposition for over eight years.

At CCIWA, Anthea has led the development of a range of major and highly influential policy projects, including environmental approvals, the role of gas, energy transition, GST, uranium mining, payroll tax, housing reform and CCUS. These projects have ensured CCIWA is a leading and highly relevant industry body.

Anthea also holds a PhD from Curtin University in corporate social responsibility.

Lena is Interim Director, Commercial Services at CCIWA who has been driving workforce development policy and program initiatives for WA industry for over a decade.

With a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, she leads CCIWA’s services focused on supporting WA businesses to build local skills through connecting with the school, VET and university sectors to develop the workforce of the future. She also represents CCIWA on the WA State Training Board, the peak industry training advisory body to the Minister for Skills and TAFE in WA.

Passionate about getting people the skills that WA industry needs, Lena has strong knowledge of the apprenticeship system from overseeing WA’s largest Australian Apprenticeship Support Network provider since 2015.

Lena has also worked for the Federal Government on industry policy and previously led the CCIWA Policy team, amassing extensive experience in policy development and government program implementation.

Holding a Bachelor of Laws and with over 15 years of management and industrial relations experience, Ryan has led CCIWA’s employment law practice, Business Law WA since 2019.

Ryan now also heads up the broader Workplace Relations Group at CCIWA as an executive leader, overseeing the growth of CCIWA’s commercial teams that provide advice and services to businesses in the areas of industrial relations, employment law, work health and safety, human resources consulting and training and development.

With a passion for strategy and leadership, he is driven by the unique opportunities that CCIWA provides to support businesses to grow, as well as mentoring others and help them to develop and achieve their potential.

Clint is a technology leader with 25 years’ experience in driving digital and technology transformation and operational change across public, private and not-for-profit sectors, including in resources, engineering and staffing.

Having held leadership roles at Paladin Energy, Programmed and the Department of Finance WA, Clint has led major infrastructure upgrades, cloud transitions and cyber security enhancements. His hands-on, people-first leadership style promotes team inclusivity and strategic technology alignment.

Clint joined CCIWA in 2020, where he has been instrumental in shaping the organisation’s technology direction. He leads technology initiatives that foster collaboration, drive innovation and strengthen organisational resilience – ensuring that technology solutions support both internal operations and member services.

Clint is passionate about creating environments where people and technology thrive together. He brings a grounded, strategic mindset to every challenge, helping organisations unlock new opportunities and build cultures of trust, learning and continuous improvement.

Fateen is a seasoned finance executive with over two decades of experience in senior leadership roles across diverse sectors including legal, engineering, retail, and not-for-profit. As a qualified accountant, Fateen currently leads the Finance and Assets functions at CCIWA, where he plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation’s financial sustainability and alignment with strategic objectives.

In recent years, Fateen has been instrumental in supporting the expansion and consolidation of CCIWA’s business services, contributing to the organisation’s growth and operational resilience. He also serves as Director and Company Secretary for CCIWA subsidiaries and oversees Enterprise Risk Management, reinforcing governance and risk oversight across the organisation.

Fateen is deeply committed to fostering a culture of empowerment and distributed leadership, believing that sustainable success is achieved when every team member is equipped to contribute meaningfully. His ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights has been a key asset in engaging stakeholders and driving strategic outcomes.
