CCIWA has extended its contract with Austrade to deliver TradeStart Export Advisory Services for another four years.
Through TradeStart, CCIWA helps WA businesses develop sales into new and existing international markets.
CCIWA TradeStart Adviser Darren Levy says the program has supported more than a thousand exporters over the past decade.
“We provide advice on local and international compliance requirements, market selection, risk management and finding new customers and partners across the globe, leveraging the Austrade and WA Government international offices,” he says.
“I am delighted to continue supporting WA businesses to safely build new sales and partner opportunities into international markets together with Austrade and the WA Government.”
Federal Trade and Tourism Minister Don Farrell says Australian exporters make a huge contribution to our economy.
“More trade means more well-paying jobs, more national income, more opportunities for business, and a lower cost of living,” he says.
“TradeStart advisers will help make it easier for Australian businesses, particularly in regional Australia, who are looking to expand their horizons and share their quality products and services with the world.”
Trade support for businesses of all sizes
TradeStart is available to small, medium and very large export-ready businesses.
“Businesses who have established domestic markets and resources to expand into new international markets are eligible for the TradeStart service,” Levy says.
“We also support exporters who wish to grow their sales in existing or new markets.
“In many parts of the world such as Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, having the Australian Government support business relationships often helps both the local WA business and foreign buyer feel more comfortable to fast-track outcomes.”
Collectively between Austrade and WA Government there are over 85 offices in more than 40 countries staffed with Australians and locals to help WA businesses grow new business opportunities.
A decade of aiding export success
TradeStart’s track record of helping businesses expand internationally spans industries, including food and agriculture, advanced manufacturing, mining, energy, education and digital economy companies.
“During COVID we provided significant support to the food and agribusiness sector, particularly meat, wine and lobster to diversify into a number of international markets,” Levy says.
“This resulted in tens of millions in new sales across Asia, USA, Middle East and UK/Europe.”
Earlier this year, TradeStart sponsored 30 international food and wine buyers to visit and tour WA.
“We took them on a 1,000-kilometre journey through Perth and the South West, introducing them to over 125 exporting and export-ready food and wine producers to develop new sales opportunities,” he says.
“There was no cost to the WA producers and they were able to meet one-one-one with high quality international buyers they might not otherwise have been able to access.”
TradeStart has also helped businesses attend international trade shows and meet with new buyers, along with facilitating access to grants.
