Two innovative Western Australian companies in the clean energy sector have secured more than $5 million in funding since being listed on the digital investments platform, WA Investments.
WA Investments – a partnership between CCIWA and the WA Government’s Invest and Trade Western Australia – showcases WA’s investment-ready projects and connects businesses to local and international investors.
Vytas secured $5m in funding for its projects developing green hydrogen on demand, high-quality quartz and carbon-free silicon.
International Graphite has also secured funding to develop new sources of battery anode graphite in WA since being listed.
“The WA platform was very very helpful for Vytas to be able to put itself out there, into the public forum and just bring awareness of the achievements that Vytas was delivering,” says Vytas Managing Director David Cornell.
The deals are the first to be secured since WA Investments launched in 2023.
Connecting WA projects with international investment
Premier Roger Cook said he was proud that the dealbook highlighted WA’s strengths as an investment destination.
“We know how important international investment is to WA’s ongoing prosperity so it’s good to see the dealbook concept in action,” he said at CCIWA’s Business Breakfast at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre this morning.
CCIWA Chief Executive Chris Rodwell says WA Investments has placed WA front and centre in the race for global investment.
“Both of these projects show there’s great appetite for the innovative and exciting opportunities our State has to offer,” he says.
“WA’s reputation as a good place to invest, coupled with our natural advantages and skilled and innovative workforce, puts this State in the box seat to draw in capital from all over the world.”
Rodwell says supporting investment in crucial emerging industries will help to diversify our economy and further cement WA’s position as an economic powerhouse.
“These are the first of many significant deals we expect to be inked through the WA Investments platform in areas like critical minerals, hydrogen, advanced manufacturing and other key sectors,” he says.
“WA Investments is a crucial link between WA businesses and international partners who are willing to back innovation.”
There are currently more than $6.5 billion worth of project investment opportunities available on WA Investments across a range of different industries.
