Golsby sets out vision for CCIWA as he takes leadership reins

CCIWA’s new Chief Executive Officer Will Golsby has outlined his vision for the organisation as he commences in his role today.

Golsby said he was proud to lead CCIWA into its next chapter.

“CCIWA is an organisation whose history and heritage are unique to Western Australia,” he said.

“A really important role for CCIWA is to really work with our Members to understand their operating environment and what the impediments are to their growth.

“I think our Members certainly have key focuses around providing certainty to their operating environment, no matter how big or small their business is.”

Golsby said that there were big opportunities ahead for WA businesses, as well as some significant challenges.

“The GST is going to be an incredibly important discussion that we’re going to be having with the Federal Government,” he said.

“We will be making it very clear to the Federal Government that WA’s GST deal must be maintained.

“We’re also always focused on regulation, workplace safety and workplace relations. I’m very keen to look at areas around the supply chain, transport and logistics and what’s happening across our regions as well.”

Golsby said the ongoing conflict in the Gulf was weighing heavily on many WA businesses.

“Whether it’s supply chain challenges, fuel prices or the prospect of rising costs in general, we know the conflict is having an impact on many of our Members already,” he said.

“We’re advocating on behalf of WA businesses at all levels of government to ensure the impact on our economy is minimised as much as possible, and our team stands ready to offer any practical support that might be required.”

Golsby acknowledged and thanked Matt Golds for his strong leadership as Acting CEO, and looked forward to continuing to work with Matt in his role as CCIWA’s Chief Operating Officer.
