New national trade network to support export diversification

Austrade has launched a Trade Diversification Network (TDN), bringing together 40 national industry bodies to support exporters entering new markets and growing existing ones.

Large cargo ships are ready for unloading their containers.

The network will help implement the Federal Government’s $50 million Accessing New Markets Initiative (ANMI) which was launched in September 2025 to support businesses secure new trading partners in key markets.

Aimed at bringing industry and government closer together, TDN comprises peak bodies from agrifood, consumer, creative, technology, health, green economy, METS, defence, advanced manufacturing, space and First Nations.

What does this mean for WA businesses?

CCIWA, along with other state chambers, will collaborate with our national counterpart the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) – a TDN member – to deliver initiatives for exporters, such as trade missions, training and showcases.

“Australia is a trading nation and we want to see more Australian exporters doing more trade with new and emerging partners across the globe in places like the Middle East and Southeast Asia,” said Federal Trade Minister Don Farrell.

“With one in four Australian jobs connected to trade, by helping our exporters we are securing jobs, building communities and benefiting the Australian economy.”
