Workshop to gear agrifood businesses up for export

A new workshop series held this month for experienced agrifood exporters or those interested in accessing international markets offers valuable insights to grow your sales internationally. 

The Essentials of Agrifood Export Workshop, delivered by CCIWA in partnership with the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, will provide foundational export training and insights. 

It will equip WA businesses with the knowledge, skills and strategies to navigate international markets successfully, understand the export process, assess market opportunities, and develop the capabilities required to expand their reach globally.  

What to expect

  • Strategies for expanding from domestic to export markets, covering market selection, international competitor analysis and insights specific to food and beverage sectors. 
  • Essential preparation for export, including a readiness checklist, export toolkit (incoterms, payment terms), and guidance on choosing distributors and drafting agreements. 
  • Effective market engagement tactics, from trade show participation and crafting compelling pitch decks to building cultural literacy and creating tailored marketing materials. 
  • Practical guidance on navigating market access requirements, import protocols, free trade agreements (FTAs), and necessary export documentation. 
  • Optimising freight and logistics to reduce costs and enhance delivery efficiency, with insights for both domestic and international sales. 
  • Leveraging financial grants and programs to support export growth and reduce financial barriers.
