CCIWA’s Diversity and Inclusion Awards have been recognised as a world-leading initiative, winning a top award at the 14th World Chambers Congress in Melbourne.
The awards, which launched in 2024, showcase Western Australian businesses who go above and beyond to promote diversity and inclusion.
The initiative beat stand-out projects from Colombia, The United Arab Emirates and Georgia in the “Best Diversity and Inclusion Project” category.
CCIWA Acting co-CEO, Aaron Morey, said the awards resonated deeply with WA businesses.
“The calibre of support we received from across the business community shows that diversity and inclusion is here to stay in workplaces of all shapes and sizes,” he said.
“To be recognised by the World Chambers Congress is an enormous honour, and fantastic recognition for our team who developed the concept.”
The 2024 Diversity and Inclusion Awards saw more than a hundred entries into 11 different categories, including disability employment, cultural inclusion, gender equity, First Nations inclusion and LGBTQIA+ initiatives.
The awards will return for their second year, with the winners unveiled at a gala event at Crown Perth on November 7th.
“We’ve been blown away by the quality of entries, with more than 140 initiatives assessed by our panel of judges,” Mr Morey said.
“There is an outstanding field of finalists for each category, and we can’t wait to share their stories.
“Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace is more important than ever, and it’s fantastic to see the WA business community rallying behind this initiative.”
