Small Business Summit 2026

Monday, October 26, 2026

The CCIWA Small Business Summit 2026 will celebrate Small Business Day while providing a high-impact platform to connect Western Australia’s small business community with industry leaders, policymakers, and decision-makers.

Beyond showcasing opportunities, the Summit will play a critical role in gathering real-time insights from small businesses on the barriers they face, ranging from regulatory complexity to workforce constraints and access to capital. These insights will be captured through curated discussions, interactive sessions, and stakeholder engagement, providing valuable intelligence to inform government policy, shape reform priorities, and support more targeted initiatives to help WA small businesses overcome challenges and unlock growth.

Sessions

How to maximise the value of your business – Presented by Adapt
Two businesses can make the same profit and be worth very different amounts. The difference is how much still runs through the owner. A practical session on finding where your business depends on you, what you want your future state to be, and the first moves that lift its value whether you step back, sell or stay.

Marketing in the Digital Age: What Actually Works – Presented by Juicebox
Digital marketing has changed the tools and channels available, but the fundamentals of effective marketing remain the same. We’ll look at how evidence and customer behaviour should shape your marketing, and how digital and non-digital channels, tools and experiences work together as part of the wider marketing ecosystem.

Unlock the power of fleet – Presented by Mitsubishi Motors Australia
Your vehicles keep your business moving — but are they costing you more than they should? Join Mitsubishi Motors Australia for a practical workshop that demystifies Australia’s fleet market and what it means for small business. Discover how fleet pricing works, compare buying, financing and leasing, and understand the real impact of servicing, downtime and resale. We’ll showcase Mitsubishi’s fleet support and MiDiamond Leasing and unlock exclusive fleet incentives and offers for workshop attendees — helping you make more informed vehicle decisions.

Watch AI begin to build a business, Live – presented by Zetta
This is a live demonstration, not a slide tour of what AI might do one day. Zetta’s AI team will brief Claude the way any small-business owner would, send a swarm of research agents into a real local market, and follow that work all the way through to a live website attendees can open on their phone in the room — and again after they leave. The business we build is just the example; the method — brief, research, build, publish — is what you take back to your own business on Monday, whatever it is you run.

AI and workplace disputes – presented by Business Law
With the rise of AI use, employees are increasingly leaning on these tools to prepare and manage their claims at both workplace level, and in the Fair Work Commission and the Courts. This session will discuss recent case law on the issue, steps the Fair Work Commission have taken to mitigate the amount of unmeritorious applications being made and what strategies you can implement in the workplace to assist with managing AI driven workplace complaints and disputes.

Why do some businesses consistently attract and retain great people while others struggle with turnover, leadership challenges and skills shortages? – presented by CCIWA
Drawing on real-world observations from supporting employers across Western Australia, this session explores the habits, behaviours and workplace practices that distinguish successful employers from the rest. Learn the practical steps small businesses can take to build capable leaders, create positive workplace cultures and obtain and retain teams that support long-term business success.
Attendees will leave with seven practical considerations they can apply immediately to improve retention, engagement and workforce capability.
