Workplace inclusivity at Paywise starts with strengths-based approach

At Paywise, an inclusive workplace means recognising what employees’ strengths and creating opportunities for them to contribute meaningfully.

The salary packaging and novated leasing provider has partnered with Good Sammy to create employment opportunities that match people with roles suited to their individual strengths.

Paywise Customer Experience Team Coach Iris Jansen Verplanke said its important inclusive employment is simply part of the everyday business operations.

“They go through the same process as other new people. They start with an induction week, an introduction to salary packaging, what we do here at Paywise, and how it all works,” she said.

The opportunity for Anita Hodgson to work at Paywise came after completing a traineeship with Good Sammy. She now supports finance and administration functions, with her role growing from one to two days a week.

Customer Experience Consultant Tyler Bland also found an opportunity that aligned with his strengths.

“They said, ‘We’ve got a job for you regarding mostly data entry,’ and I went, ‘Great, that’s what I’m good at.’ Eventually, I got long-term employment here,” he said.

Underpinning Paywise’s approach to inclusive employment is focusing on capability, providing the right support and creating an environment that enables everyone to thrive.
