Will Salesforce work for you?

There’s a plethora of food choices on your menu, but you want one particular item, just the way you like it – A La Carte.

Salesforce can be likened to A La Carte. You can assemble it as a custom suite of products rather than pay for a standard suite which may not be relevant or applicable to the way you operate your business.

Graham Hill, business advisor and CEO of Metisc, says Salesforce was the first cloud CRM provider and system. The platform is different because it encourages developers to add custom made apps. Being web based it is easy for a business to use without needing to download software.

“The reason so many people use Salesforce is that it is a very well recognised brand but also it is powerful. When you start using a CRM and it works for your business, the results can be quite staggering, and Salesforce was the first company to be recognised for assisting to achieve sales results for business,” Hill says.

“Also, Salesforce has a very slick marketing machine and way of selling their product. They’ve got a small pool of dedicate salespeople that do it and are very strict about who they let do it.”

Feedback Hill has received from smaller businesses who use Salesforce is that the amount of customer support for the amount they pay is not good enough. He says larger businesses tend to say that they receive good service.

Salesforce is now accessible to the third party. However, it can become expensive when you add up the cost of extra pieces available.

The CRM has become more financially competitive than it used to be because the entire CRM market has become competitive, applying downward pressure on the well-known players.
