Why you need a special email platform

By CCIWA Editor

The most obvious benefit of a platform is the ability to easily design good looking templates that align with your brand and website.

The other benefits include:

Databases

Seamless database management functionality can allow subscribers to receive different types of information. Whatever options they choose in the subscription form will be recorded in the customer database.

For example, a person could elect to receive either an e-newsletter or information about special deals – or both. Or they might choose to receive different types of editorial information based on their interests.

On the business side, you can decide if you want one or more customer lists to receive a particular email. You can also send personalised emails that address the recipient by name. If the date of birth has been provided by the recipient, email systems are capable of sending out special messages to database recipients on their birthday.

Measurement

Email systems can also provide reporting metrics on user behaviour, such as open rates, bounce rates, click-through rates, conversions and if the email was on-sent to friends.

Opt-out function

The most important feature from a legal point of view is the ‘unsubscribe’ button, which allows your emails to easily comply with the Spam Act. A person can easily opt out as an email recipient by clicking on the button.
